Pokok Sena is a town in Kedah, Malaysia. It is the 12th district of Kedah which was formerly a subdistrict of Kota Setar. The declaration of the 24,000ha district with a population of 50,000 was made by the Sultan of Kedah, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah in conjunction with his 81st birthday. The district is divided into 6 sub-districts: Gajah Mati, Jabi, Tualang, Lesong, Bukit Lada, Derang and consists of 122 villages and 21 residential areas.
Pokok Sena is a Malay Name for Angsana (Androcarpus indicus) which a common shade tree in Kedah. This plant usually found along the river tradational route before road are developed. Now most of the trees are found along the road and office compound.
There are few important places near pokok sena namely Taman Kekal Pengeluaran Makan (TKPM ) Gajah Mati, Agriculture Station Gajah Mati and Vertinary Station Gajah Mati.
Majlis Perisytiharan Daerah Pokok Sena and Majlis Perasmian Kompleks Pejabat Daerah and Tanah Pokok Sena were inaugurated, in conjunction with Sultan of Kedah’s anniversary. These councils were one historic event not only for people in this district but also for public administration Kedah State. Initiative upgrade Daerah Kecil Pokok Sena to a total area, District Office establishment and Pokok Sena Land was one commitment manifestation Kedah State Government and public administration State to improve efficiency and effectiveness of government service delivery system to people.
