just out of sudden, a question stroke into my mind after seeing one of these properties pullout in one of the dailies recently that showcasing the latest properties development in Klang Valley,
I am, at one side, impressed by the flourish growth of our properties development despite the economy downturn that the whole world is facing.
I am also confused by the crazily cloned, duplicated and non-authentic naming of the new development, I can easily find 3 Saujana's,

4 sanskrit-like naming condominiums like Ayura, Ayara, Asara, Samsara, and bla bla bla.

Besides, the worse going to those who cloned the overseas flagship/ signature development to their very own version that come with the very embarrassing completed work, like whole London neighborhood was brought in by Mayland, inluded Windsor, Waldorf, Dorchester and Mayfair Serviced Apartments.

Then you can also see a lot of algebra terms/ shapes were utilised after The Curve, like The Cube, The Oval, The XXX.
What's the effect for such naming of properties?
Well, easy to see, first thing first, it confused our GPS system, when you key in Taman Desa, you better make sure you are referring to the one in Old Klang road or the one in Kepong/Selayang; when you make apppointment to see your client in Maluri, you better double confirm with him so that he doesn't go to the one beside Menjalara.
If there's an award for the naming of properties, I believe that the most happening category will go to the \"Damansara's Nomination\" as Damansara Utama and Damansara Jaya were all the while the residential areas for the richie rich, but right now? well, the \"Damansara\" word is like gang-raped by the respective developers, Damansara Damai, Damansara Perdana, Damansara Pelangi, Kota Damansara etc, and you can enjoy the privilege to have the \"Damansara\" word in your address ( if and only it's so important to you ), from as low as RM 60,000 properties ( the low cost flat development in Damansara Damai ).
If the developer spend a little bit more time on the branding and naming of the properties to stand out from others, I believe that the chances for them to lead the market will be brighter, look at YTL, The Saffron, The Tamarind, The Maple, The Capers, D7 ( though it sounds like Durian to me ), with consistent naming strategy, had successfully created a brilliant brand image and reputation to all his development.
So, Mr. Developers, when are you going to wake up?
